Welcome to PocketPetCare. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PocketPetCare platform, including our website, mobile experience, AI chat service, and expert consultation features (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
Beta Service Terms
This section applies while PocketPetCare is in its beta testing phase. These terms supplement and, where they conflict, take precedence over the general Terms of Service below.
PocketPetCare is currently in a beta testing phase. By using the service during this period, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Experimental service. The service is under active development. Features, interfaces, and capabilities may change, break, or be removed without notice.
- No charge during beta. The service is provided free of charge during the beta period. No payment is required or accepted. When the beta period ends, the service will transition to a paid model. You will be notified in advance and will have the opportunity to choose a subscription plan or continue with a free tier.
- No service guarantees. During the beta, we provide no guarantees of availability, uptime, response quality, data preservation, or feature stability. The service may experience downtime, data loss, or degraded performance.
- AI response reliability. AI-generated responses during beta may be less accurate than in the final service as we continue to refine our systems. The existing Medical Disclaimer applies with additional emphasis: do not rely on beta responses for critical health decisions about your pets.
- Feedback and improvement. Your use of the beta helps us improve the service. We may contact you for feedback. Bug reports, feature requests, and general feedback are welcome at beta@pocketpetcare.net.
- Beta period duration. The beta period will end at a date to be announced. You will receive at least 14 days' notice before the transition to the general service. Your account, pet profiles, and conversation history will be preserved through the transition.
- Beta plan. During beta, your account includes a complimentary Beta Access plan valid for one month from signup. After this period expires, your account reverts to the Free tier. Any credits in your account remain available.

1. Service Description
PocketPetCare is an AI-powered informational platform for pet health, nutrition, and behavior questions. The Service includes:
- AI-generated responses to pet health and care questions
- Optional expert veterinary consultations
- Pet profile management
- A knowledge base built from veterinary expertise
Important: PocketPetCare is an informational service only. It does not provide veterinary medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nothing on this platform constitutes or replaces the professional judgment of a licensed veterinarian.
2. Eligibility
To use PocketPetCare, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Provide accurate, complete, and current information when creating your account
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction
By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your password with anyone or allow others to access your account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorized it.
If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, notify us immediately at legal@pocketpetcare.net.
4. The AI Service
PocketPetCare uses third-party AI models to generate responses to your questions. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or inappropriate for your specific situation
- The Service makes no warranty about the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of AI-generated content
- No veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) is established through use of the AI service
- AI responses are not a substitute for professional veterinary examination, diagnosis, or treatment
- You should always consult a licensed veterinarian for health decisions about your pets
The AI service includes a confidence indicator. A low confidence rating (below 60%) indicates that the response may not be reliable for your specific situation and you should seek professional consultation.
5. Expert Consultations
For questions requiring deeper expertise, the Service offers optional consultations with veterinary professionals. You understand and agree that:
- Expert consultations provide general veterinary guidance based on the information you provide — they do not constitute a clinical examination, diagnosis, or treatment plan
- No veterinarian-client-patient relationship (VCPR) is established through expert consultations on this platform
- Expert responses represent the individual expert's opinion and may not be applicable to your specific situation
- Response times are not guaranteed; the platform targets a response within 72 hours when available
- If an expert consultation is not fulfilled within 72 hours, the credits used will be automatically returned to your wallet
6. Payment Terms
Subscriptions
Paid subscription plans are billed monthly. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel beforehand through your account settings or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period.
Credit Purchases
Credits are purchased as a one-time payment. Purchased credits do not expire while your account remains active. Credit purchases are non-refundable once processed, except where required by applicable consumer protection law (see our Refund & Cancellation Policy for details, including EU cooling-off rights).
Message Block Billing
Conversations are organized in message blocks. Each new conversation consumes one block from your plan allowance or credit wallet. Extending a conversation beyond the included messages in a block costs additional credits as described on the pricing page.
Pricing Changes
We reserve the right to modify pricing, credit values, and plan features with at least 30 days' advance notice via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
Credits on Account Termination
If your account is terminated for violation of these Terms, remaining credits may be forfeited. Credits will be refunded where required by applicable law. If you voluntarily close your account, unused credits are non-refundable unless required by applicable law.
7. Limitation of Liability
[REVIEW WITH LAWYER] The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PocketPetCare and its operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any:
- Direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service
- Damages arising from reliance on AI-generated or expert-provided information
- Actions taken or not taken based on information received through the Service
- Adverse health outcomes for any pet
- Service interruptions, data loss, or unauthorized access
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service is capped at the total amount you have paid to PocketPetCare in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not permit certain limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
8. Indemnification
[REVIEW WITH LAWYER] You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PocketPetCare and its operators, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the Service
- Any content you submit through the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights
9. Assumption of Risk
You acknowledge and accept that:
- Pet health decisions are ultimately your responsibility as the pet owner
- AI responses and expert consultations may not account for all relevant factors about your specific pet's health, history, or environment
- The Service cannot replace in-person veterinary examination, which allows a professional to physically assess your pet
- In any emergency situation, you should contact a veterinarian immediately rather than relying on this Service
10. Intellectual Property
PocketPetCare and its operators own all rights, title, and interest in and to the platform, including its design, technology, software, and branding. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.
You retain ownership of content you create and submit through the Service (your messages, pet data, uploaded images). By using the Service, you grant PocketPetCare a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.
You must not:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service
- Reproduce or distribute any part of the Service without written permission
11. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party providers including AI model providers, payment processors, and hosting infrastructure. PocketPetCare is not responsible for failures, outages, data issues, or policy changes caused by third-party services. Your use of the Service is subject to those providers' applicable terms and policies.
12. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may close your account through your account settings. PocketPetCare may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for:
- Violation of these Terms
- Conduct that harms other users or the platform
- Non-payment of fees
- Any reason at our sole discretion
Upon termination:
- An active paid subscription continues until the end of the current billing period (no additional charges will be made)
- Remaining credits are forfeited unless a refund is required by law
- Your pet data and conversation history may be retained for up to 30 days after account closure, then permanently deleted
13. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email and/or an in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the notice period constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service before they take effect.
14. Governing Law & Disputes
[REVIEW WITH LAWYER] These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary and the applicable regulations of the European Union, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Debrecen, Hungary.
If you are an EU consumer, you retain the right to file complaints with your local consumer protection authority and to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
15. General Provisions
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Medical Disclaimer, and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and PocketPetCare regarding the Service.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it in the future.
Assignment. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
